This is an outstanding well crystallized example for cuprite from this important old Russian locality! Well formed dark red octahedral crystals of cuprite to 0.8 cm in size are thickly covering both sides of a 6.8 x 4.4 x 1.7 cm matrix. I can only find very minor damage along the left edge of the front of the matrix, otherwise perfect. Overall, considering the age and historic status of this specimen, this is in excellent shape damage-wise. Comes with several old labels, including one from Lawrence Conklin. Ex Robert Nowakowski collection. A super addition for any suite of classic Russian minerals, copper-bearing species, etc.

A superb well crystallized cabinet piece from this famous locality! Glassy translucent green tabular crystals of fluorapatite to 3.8 cm in diameter are scattered throughout a shapely 9.7 x 8.8 x 6.0 cm matrix with lenticular brown siderite crystals to 2.8 cm. These are surrounding a black lustrous cluster of sphalerite crystals. Minor quartz in association. If you check the piece closely with a 10x loupe you will find a couple of areas on fluorapatite edges with very tiny chipping. This is very sparse and is not visible to my naked eye. There are a few siderite crystals that are not quite complete as seen in the photos. The specimen is "mound-shaped" and well crystallized all around 360 degrees. Sits perfectly for display by itself. Outstanding specimen for the locality. Previous label from the Natural History Museum Los Angeles County. Ex Lloyd Tate collection. Ref: The Mineralogical Record: 2: 73-78.

Brown micro crystals of hubeite are prevalent throughout, as are micro pyrite crystals. Complete all around; the quartz is naturally crystallized on the base as well. Very fine and choice cabinet piece for the species. Size: 11.5 x 6.3 x 4.0 cm. Ex Lloyd Tate collection. Ref: The Mineralogical Record, 38, 33-42.
